The Federal Character Commission (FCC) is a constitutional body established to promote national unity, fairness, and inclusiveness in Nigeria’s public service. The Commission ensures that the composition of the Federal Government and its agencies reflects the diversity of the Nigerian federation, guaranteeing equitable representation of all states and ethnic groups in accordance with the Federal Character Principle.
Through monitoring, regulation, and advisory functions, the Commission works with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure compliance with constitutional provisions guiding recruitment, appointments, promotions, and distribution of public resources.
